Plans for Double Page Spread Article

My double page spread article, will be the most industry inspired part of my design work, with many conventions included, with similar text styles, image size, and page layout, to those of big music magazines.  However I will be keeping the  features very simple, instead of having large amounts of detail dotted around the page, I want the feature to be easy to read and understand for a reader.
The main components will be

Heading/ page description
Quote/article heading
Main text/feature
Large image covering the page

Draft of Double Page Spread Article

About four years ago, our up an coming bands section featured ‘’ the dream martyrs’’   a post hardcore band from the north west of England, this caused a huge hype around the band, and their track, ‘’ cut loose’’   got over  10,000 plays in one week on our webpage, it was safe to say,  the martyrs were hitting the big time.

However, the summer in the following year turned to be a fatal one for the band, they were selling out venues, fans queuing for hours to meet them, many questioned, what could go wrong ?.    A huge shock to the music industry came when Mattie Weaver, martyr’s bassist, left the band, to pursue  a solo career. ‘’ The unexpected, happened, no one had ever seen a bassist go solo before, I mean, one man on bass, everyone was confused’’ said the 17 year old bassist in one interview.
However, since he left the band, weaver has become an international drum and bass star, headlining global gathering, and even playing rock and metal festivals, bringing drum and bass, and even metal, further into the mainstream.
A big achievement, however the star remains modest as ever ‘’ four years ago I never thought things would get this crazy’’ he told a 10,000 strong crowd at a recent gig. At only 17 years old, he has a long career ahead of him, and Throwdown will be there every step of the way.

Analysis of Example Double Page Spreads

 NME
                     kerrang

This double page spread by NME is one of the main features in the           magazine, which breaks convention because usually there is one double page spread as a main feature, however NME uses several.
There is no title for the feature, however it uses a quotation from the band as a small extract of the feature weather it being an interview, or biographical piece.           This is a big convention in double page spreads in music magazines.
Another convention is the image, it takes up the majority of the page, leaving the text or the feature squashed to the side, these photos are usually very professional shots
Adding to layout, it is rather simple, with a large image, a header, and some text, it is concise and easy to read

Kerrang magazine uses only one double page spread as its main magazine feature, keeping convention and contrasting to NME.
This feature also uses a quote as a title, but includes a sub-title too
The  double page is full of detail, with sidebars, small images with captions, and  several headings.
The layout is similar to that of NME  with a large image covering most of the page.
